Beyond personal experiences, we aim to advocate for better medical benefits, increased access to mental health support, and serve as a reminder to faith-based organizations of their profound role in bringing spiritual healing to all.

SAD DADS

SAD DADS CLUB helps fellow bereaved fathers navigate life after loss by nurturing a supportive community and providing access to mental health services.

Rather than walk a lonely road, the Sad Dads carry each other and an ever-growing group of other loss fathers through the darkest parts of this journey. These incredible Mainers endeavor to bring joy back into their lives and the lives of other Sad Dads while honoring the children they lost. They’ve birthed a global community with members from Maine to California and Auckland to Vancouver. A registered 501c3, the Sad Dads Club meets weekly and gathers for retreats in Vacationland.

Through live events, daily Instagram posts, and long-form essays, Rob, Chris, and Jay have created a safe and supportive space for fathers to grieve and grow together. In addition to building community, the organization is committed to fundraising to ensure other loss parents have access to life-saving mental health support.

One Last Wave Project

Our mission is to harness the healing power of the ocean to help grieving families coping with the loss of a loved one who had a deep connection to the ocean or nature. We memorialize your loved ones by carefully etching their names onto surfboards that are hand-shaped locally and then carrying them out into the ocean to catch a symbolic one last wave as an active way to honor them in a place they loved.

Reflections Grief and Wellness Care

Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support used to facilitate healing to those who have suffered the traumatic loss of a child. Our programs range from assisting with bereavement support, education and funeral expenses.

We want to embrace a sense of unity among child loss. A child is a child regardless of age or circumstance. Our mission is to fill the gaps of child loss, providing a place for all families to heal.

Recognizing that traumatic losses extend beyond child loss, individuals and families who are in need of grief and wellness care, are never denied the emotional support they need regardless of affordability or insurance coverage.

Gifts from Liam

Awareness & Prevention: We increase awareness and share education to prevent pregnancy and infant loss and support families who have experienced the death of a baby.

Also participates in a diaper drive: what began as Liam giving away all his unused clothes, toys, and diapers to other babies in need, quickly began transforming into a greater gift. In an effort to fight the #DiaperGap and to honor Liam's 1st birthday, we hosted our first Diaper Drive and collected 20,000 Diapers. Since then, we have collected and distributed over 100,000 diapers, 40,000 wipes, and a Cuddle Cot.

Services and resources are given at NO COST to bereaved parents. RGA provides encouragement, material resources, weekly peer support meetings, remembrance events and other relative activities to assist in the grieving process.

Peer Support; RGA wants to recognize this large population of families and help bring awareness to local communities by encouraging them to offer a support system and a peer support network for these bereaved families.

Lending a Library; RGA provides a lending library for each chapter to share and educate participants on all of the different kinds of losses. Coping materials and interesting stories and articles are also available.

Finding a Purpose; RGA affirms that even though families did not get to keep their baby here on this Earth, no one can take away the title that they so deserve as “Mom,” “Dad,” “Sibling,” “Grandparent,” etc.. We believe that these babies were created for a higher purpose.

Remembrance; RGA also affirms these families by offering weekly peer support meeting, two yearly remembrance events, other local chapter coordinated events and fundraisers to honor them and their babies. Birthday cards as well as Mother’s day, Father’s Day and Holiday cards are also sent in remembrance and in honor of their baby.
