Nancy Becker Therapy

I’m Nancy Becker, a psychotherapist and clinical social worker on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I’ve been in private practice since 1985, with a Master’s Degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, in the clinical track. I also earned a certificate from the Institute for Developmental Psychotherapy.

I treat children 10 and older, adolescents, and individuals up through older adults with a large range of emotional and life issues. I offer anxiety treatment; depression treatment; marriage and couples counseling; counseling about miscarriage, infertility, and adoption; family counseling; parenting counseling; counseling about your concerns about your teen; job and work support; counseling for women in business; and substance misuse disorder treatment. I foster a warm environment, so that we can form the trusting relationship that allows the exploration of your past. This way we can uncover the helpful and not-so-helpful factors from your past that are at work in your life today.

Located in Manhattan. Serving residents all five boroughs of NYC, Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Bloomingdale, and Harlem.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 12 years of experience in the field. My degree in Marriage and Family Therapy equips me to understand not only the complexities of individual conflict and pain, but also that of relational struggle. My passion is to help individuals and couples cope and grow even as they are faced with unexpected and very painful challenges.

I believe that the pain of infertility and pregnancy loss is unique to each individual and couple and is also very misunderstood and sometimes hidden by our culture. Grieving the pain of unsuccessful pregnancy attempts or pregnancy losses even as you work to have a family creates a unique set of challenges. Finding a safe space to share this experience is a critical part of moving forward in a healthy way.

Grief is a very individualized experience. No two people grieve alike, nor should we encourage them to. It is my goal to help people discover what they need in order to share their pain, to acknowledge and respect their loss, and to find peace in the midst of the grief and heartache.

I'm Dr. Sarah Pires, a licensed clinical psychologist certified in perinatal mental health. I help overwhelmed women find self-compassion within so they can live their fullest life through the many transitions of motherhood.

It is one of my greatest joys to help support women as they find more self-acceptance and healthy self-expectations in a world that often asks us to be more. This led me to focus my work on helping women feel more peaceful in their relationships with themselves and the people they love. I believe in this so much because when we build a healthy relationship with ourselves, our best life is possible.
